In Memory of David L. Huettl

David L. Huettl, age 65, of Cambridge, died of cancer on April 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. A Memorial Service will held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 5th at South Isanti Baptist Church with a gathering time 1 hour prior.  A visitation will also be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, September 4th at the church.

David Lee Huettl was born in Aberdeen, SD to Clarence “Bud” and Caroline Huettl on January 31, 1955. When David was young they moved to Coon Rapids, MN where he grew up. He was drafted into the Army after high school. After returning home from the military he earned an Associate Degree for computers. He loved working on computers, custom building them from scratch. Dave did that for many people at no cost, only parts, because he enjoyed it so much. Dave worked for the Star Tribune for many years and retired in 2010. After retirement, he continued to work on computers and was currently building a website. He also worked at Walmart stocking the shelves. Dave was a homebody, but loved having family and friends over for a visit.

Dave died April 18, 2020 after a hard battle with cancer for 10 months at home with family at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 18 days. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark and brother, Mike.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Steven (Ning) Huettl; step-sons, Darin Ekanger, Sr., Mickey (Kate) Ekanger; step-daughter, Lisa (Dave) Praska; 8 siblings, Don (Carol), Ann Hammes, Dale (Kristi Carson), Cindy (Carl) Hovi, Barb (Roger) O’Conner, Lynnette (Brian) Wolff, Tom (Traci), Lauri (Frank) Ronneng; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
